Egyptian football club Zamalek have ended their contract with Jose Peseiro, the former coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, after the team drew 2-2 with National Bank.
“Zamalek and Jose Peseiro agree to end the relationship by mutual consent. We wish the best in future,” reads a statement on the club’s official website.
Peseiro signed a two-year contract with Zamalek several months after his Super Eagles contract expired in March 2024, shortly following Nigeria’s runner-up finish at the 2023 AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire.
The Portuguese coach suffered two losses and eight draws in 17 matches with Zamalek, while also failing to defend their CAF Confederation Cup title.
