The Federal Government has announced that Thursday, May 1, 2025, will be a public holiday in commemoration of Workers’ Day this year, SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS.
On Tuesday, Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo released a statement announcing the holiday on behalf of the government, highlighting the crucial role of peace in driving industrialization and economic growth nationwide.
Tunji-Ojo commended Nigerian workers for their dedication, hard work, and sacrifices, noting that their efforts significantly contribute to the country’s advancement and global reputation.
”There is dignity in labour; the dedication and commitment to the work we do is vital to nation-building”, the minister said.
Tunji-Ojo, therefore, urged workers to imbibe the culture of innovation and productivity.
He urged workers to elevate their skills to improve governance and ensure that all Nigerians benefit from the country’s wealth.
“This Administration is fully committed to the security of life and property of every citizen and foreigners in the country, ” he assured the citizens.
“While wishing workers a happy celebration, the Honourable Minister urged Nigerians to keep hope alive as the present administration of President Bola Tinubu is committed to the Renewed Hope Agenda he has promised,” he added.
