Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, met with a delegation of Peoples Democratic Party leaders at his Abuja residence on Monday to discuss the state of the party.
In attendance were National Secretary of the party, Senator Sam Anyanwu, former Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, and former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, as well as Minority Leader of the 10th Rivers State House of Assembly Kingsley Chinda, the Speaker of the Rivers Assembly, and several lawmakers from the state.
The PDP’s decision comes after the party announced its 2027 presidential ticket would be zoned to the South, following a key stakeholders’ meeting in the South that Wike and his allies did not attend.
