Umahi Gets Replacement as Senate Deputy Leader

The Senate on Wednesday appointed Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru of the All Progressives Congress as its new Deputy Leader of the Senate, SAVANNAH NEWS REPORTS.

Ashiru is the current Senator representing Kwara South.

Equally, the Upper Chamber announced Senator Nwebonyi Onyeka as the new Deputy Chief Whip.

Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, made the new appointments known during plenary on Wednesday, October 18, 2023.

Ashiru, was the Deputy Chief Whip of the green chamber before his elevation to the position of deputy leader.

Recall Senator Dave Umahi who earlier the occupant was appointed by President Tinubu as Minister of Works.
