A dramatic confrontation unfolded on Tuesday during a live broadcast of The Morning Show on Arise Television, as the Minister of Works, David Umahi, engaged in a heated exchange with co-anchor Rufai Oseni.
The altercation began when Oseni questioned the minister about claims that he had reported him to President Bola Tinubu over his persistent criticism of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project.
Visibly infuriated by the question, Umahi rebuffed the allegation, saying, “You are too small for me to report to the President.” He went on to emphasize his professional credentials, describing himself as a “professor in engineering” — not in the academic sense, but by virtue of his vast experience in the field.
As tempers flared, Umahi accused Oseni of lacking the technical knowledge to engage him on engineering matters. In response, the journalist urged the minister to “keep dignifying yourself and let the world see who you truly are.”
