In a successful military operation, Nigerian Army troops, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have killed three Boko Haram terrorists, including a notorious commander, Abu Rajab, during a raid in the Sambisa Forest, Borno State.
The operation specifically targeted a Boko Haram camp located in Bula Daloye, within the Bama Local Government Area.
Military sources revealed that the operation, which took place on August 17, resulted in a fierce gun battle between the troops and the terrorists. The troops managed to neutralize three terrorists, including Abu Rajab, a wanted Boko Haram commander, while others fled the scene.
The raid also led to the recovery of two AK-47 rifles and mobile phones from the terrorists. Additionally, in a related development, eight Boko Haram terrorists and their families surrendered to the troops in the Gwoza Local Government Area.
Moreover, the same group of troops successfully apprehended two suspects in Konduga Local Government Area, who were found in possession of 52 bags of illicit drugs. The drugs were reportedly intended for supply to Boko Haram terrorists, further highlighting the ongoing efforts to disrupt the group’s supply chains and operational capabilities.
This operation marks another significant step in the Nigerian military’s ongoing campaign to eliminate the Boko Haram insurgency in the northeastern region of the country.
