She noted that several attempts to address her grievances through internal party mechanisms yielded no meaningful results. “It has become increasingly difficult to remain in a political party where fairness, equity, and inclusiveness are no longer guaranteed,” she reportedly stated, adding that her decision was reached after extensive consultations with political associates, supporters, and family members. Iyabo Obasanjo maintained that her resignation was not driven by personal ambition but by a desire to uphold her principles and political values. She emphasized that every member of a political organisation deserves equal treatment and the opportunity to participate without discrimination or undue interference.
