The Supreme Court today February 16, 2023b discarded the appeal filed by the Federal Government against the reversal of the conviction of former Niger-Delta Minister, Godsday Orubebe.
Federal government umder Former Buhari had accused the former minister to have breached Code of Conduct for Pubic Officers.
A five-member panel of the apex court held that the appeal by the Federal Government was incompetent and lack of merit.
Justice Mohammed Lawal Garba led the five man team.
Justice Emmanuel Agim, who is the member of the team read the judgment.
In the judgment, the court found that the Federal government didn’t obtain the prior leave of the court before filing the appeal, which was based on grounds of mixed law and facts.
