Supreme Court Dismisses AMCON’s Appeal Against NAICOM, Jimoh Ibrahim

The Supreme Court of Nigeria has, on Wednesday, dismissed the appeal filed by the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) against the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) and businessman, Dr. Jimoh Ibrahim, SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS.

In a dramatic turn of events, the apex court delivered an on-the-spot dismissal of the case, thereby affirming the earlier judgment of the Court of Appeal which had ruled in favour of NAICOM and Dr. Ibrahim.

The decision effectively brings to an end the long-standing legal tussle between AMCON and the defendants over matters relating to the operations and management of NICON Insurance and Nigeria Reinsurance Corporation.

With this ruling, the Supreme Court has upheld the Court of Appeal’s position that AMCON had no legal basis for its claims against NAICOM and Dr. Ibrahim, marking a significant victory for the defendants.
