The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has congratulated the newly appointed Minister of Sports, Senator John Owan Enoh.
Senator Enoh who was named the Minister for Sports on Wednesday August 17 will be inaugurated on August 21th, 2023.
In a press statement issued by the Association’s Secretary-General Amb. Ikenna Okonkwo in Abuja expressed optimism that the new Sports Minister will bring his political pedigree to the ministry and Nigeria at large.
In the statement:“Going by his experience in public and private service, we believe that Senator Enoh will work to uplift Nigeria’s sports to higher heights.
“As a successful politician since he ventured into the political space in 1997, the sporting space will be a good fit for his commitment to serve and make sports viable.
“The sporting media will surely give all the support to succeed. We will also continuously play our watchdog role in a bid to make it easy for the new sports Minister and indeed other administrators to operate seamlessly,” the statement said.
