Eniola Ojajuni, the Afenifere Youth Leader, has countered a statement by the Ondo State Police Command that his alleged kidnap story is inconsistent with the known methods of kidnapping syndicates in the State.
In a video posted on his social media platforms, the kidnap survivor stated that it is the responsibility of the Nigerian Police to protect lives and properties in the State, rather than conspiring with powerful individuals who he claims are plotting to kill him due to his outspoken stance on kidnapping in the State.
Ojajuni expressed disappointment with the Police’s official statement, which sought to discredit his kidnapping. He emphasized that the Ondo Command of the Nigerian Forest Guards aided his escape and facilitated his transfer to the General Hospital in Ikare after his release at Ibillo in Edo State.
The statement reads:
“I am writing to clarify that I have not received any invitation for debriefing as claimed by your command. However, I am more than willing to cooperate with the police in their efforts to combat crime and criminality in Ondo State.”
“If there is indeed a need for my involvement or assistance in any investigation, I would appreciate it if you could formally invite me or provide more details about the purpose of the debriefing. I am committed to supporting the police and contributing to the safety and security of our community.”
“Please feel free to contact me through to discuss further.”
“Ondo state police command never invite me after my release at ibilo in Edo state on the 1st of March 2025. After i made a very strong allegation yesterday.”
