In a remarkable gesture aimed at supporting education and youth empowerment, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim CFR, PhD (Cantab), representing the good people of Ondo South Senatorial District, has commenced the disbursement of bursary awards worth ₦100,000 each to 1,000 students across various higher institutions of learning, SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS.
The bursary initiative, tagged “The ₦100 Million Senator Jimoh Ibrahim Bursary Scheme,” is part of the senator’s commitment to promoting quality education and alleviating the financial burdens of indigent students within his constituency.
According to the official release from the senator’s office, the payment will be made through UBA bank drafts issued individually to each of the 1,000 beneficiaries.
The disbursement process is being handled by a designated Payment Distribution Team to ensure transparency, efficiency, and proper coordination.
Speaking on the initiative, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim expressed his continued passion for education, describing it as the foundation of sustainable development and societal growth.
He emphasized that investing in the youth remains one of the surest ways to secure the future of Ondo South and Nigeria at large.
“Education has always been the greatest equalizer. Many of our youths have the brilliance and the drive to succeed but are often held back by financial constraints. This bursary is a token of encouragement to help them stay focused and committed to their academic pursuits,” the senator stated.
