The office of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP, Kogi Central) has been officially reopened at the National Assembly, six months after it was sealed.
On Tuesday, September 23, 2025, the Deputy Director of Sergeant-at-Arms, Mr. Alabi Adedeji, supervised the unsealing of the office. The development follows the expiration of the senator’s six-month suspension imposed by the Senate earlier in the year.
The office was initially locked on March 6, 2025, shortly after the Senate announced her suspension over alleged misconduct. With Tuesday’s action, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan is expected to resume full legislative activities.
Her reinstatement marks a new phase in the political atmosphere of the upper chamber, as attention now shifts to how she will re-engage in legislative business after her absence.
