Dr. Felix Olamide Ohunyeye, a retired military general, has purchased his expression of interest and nomination forms for the governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Ondo state.
Ohunyeye announced the development in a post on his Facebook page on Tuesday.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled February 2025 for the conduct of the Edo governorship election.
The retired but not tired general Ohunyeye will contest the party’s primary against the likes of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Senator representing the Ondo South Senatorial District, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, former Ondo State finance commissioner, Wale Akinterinwa, Chief Olusola Oke and others prominent APC chieftains who had obtained the nomination form.
While picking his forms, Dr. Ohunyeye said “I am glad to announce that I have obtained my Expression of Interest and Nomination forms at the national headquarters of our party, the All Progressive Congress, in Abuja today.
“I outlined my intention and plans to transform Ondo State to an industrial hub using our God given resources.
“I also called on the party leadership to provide a level playing ground for all aspirants as we approach the date of the primary.
“This major step is to further restate my commitment to the liberation of our people and my determination to govern the state with purpose and fear of God.
“I appreciate our party leaders, supporters and the people of Ondo State. Together we shall rise to the top.”
He revealed that what sets him apart from the rest is his experience and passion for the Ondo people.
