The Presidency has denied reports that Vice President Kashim Shettima criticized President Bola Tinubu’s suspension of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara during a recent book launch, describing the interpretations as misleading and politically motivated.
Nkwocha stated that the Vice President’s remarks at the launch of Mohammed Bello Adoke’s book, the former Attorney General, were purely reflective and historical.
The Presidency clarified that Shettima’s speech was meant as a tribute to Adoke’s legal courage in defending constitutional governance during the Boko Haram insurgency, and not a reference to current political actions involving Governor Fubara.
The Presidency has reaffirmed its unity, stating that Vice President Shettima is in full support of President Tinubu and backs all lawful decisions made to maintain stability in the country, while warning against misrepresentation of government officials’ statements by political actors and commentators seeking to create division or unnecessary controversy.
