Hundreds of activists, including prominent political players from Ondo State trooped to the Olumuyiwa Bernard Aliu Airport in Akure on Tuesday to welcome one of their own, Olujimi Adekanle popularly known as JAF.
Adekanle, a Canadian based landed in Nigeria at Murtala Muhammed International Airport few days ago to rally support for the incumbent Governor of Ondo State, HE Lucky Aiyedatiwa for the upcoming primaries election slated for 20th of April, 2024.
The public affairs analyst had earlier declared his support for the governor to sustain peace and developments in the state.
In his declaration, Adekanle stressed that in less than 3 months in the office, Governor Aiyedatiwa had performed creditably well and had kept the peace and unity in line with the political mandate of the people of the state.
The activist, known for series of face-offs with the Akeredolu’s in recent times, travelled out of the country years ago for a better life.
Mr Olorunnisola, who spoke on behalf of the people, said that they decided to welcome and celebrate the activist as a mark of solidarity for his “commitment to a better society.”
“JAF wants a better society and good leadership; and that is why he keeps on speaking against bad leadership at all levels.
“He has remained dogged in the struggle, and that is why we have come to celebrate him,” he said.
Adekanle, while addressing newsmen, expressed gratitude to the people, adding that the gesture was a succour he most needed in his struggle for good society.
“I have no doubt in my mind that the governor has done exceedingly well. He is confident, capable, knowledgeable, intelligent and have the capacity to rule the state.
In conclusion, he said the governor deserved the number one seat and urged all Ondo State people to support his governorship election bid.
