Police, DSS Operatives Seal-up Ondo PDP State Secretariat

Operatives of the Nigerian Police and the Department of State Security (DSS) have sealed up the opposition party secretariat, People’s democratic party (PDP) in Akure.

Savannah Newsnow reliably gathered that the development was to prevent a peaceful protest orgainsed by PDP youths over the Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s whereabouts after being absent from the State since April 2023.

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) through the party’s spokesperson had on Sunday claimed it uncovered the plans by the PDP youths to instigate a crisis in the state Akure.

In a statement issued by its publicity secretary, Alex Kalejaiye, he said the essence of the arrangement was to create a semblance of political instability in the peaceful State and portray the ruling party in a bad light ahead of the governorship election coming up next year.

“It has come to our knowledge that some PDP chieftains, who have started making huge contributions, in collaboration with some players within our fold, have finalized plans to destabilize the Sunshine State,” kalejaiye alleged.
