In 2024, the Bauchi State Police Command disciplined 18 personnel, including the dismissal of one officer, SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS.
This was announced by Commissioner of Police Auwal Muhammad.
According to him: “We have actively addressed instances of professional misconduct within our Command from January 2024 to date. A total of 18 personnel have undergone internal disciplinary measures, demonstrating our dedication to maintaining high operational standards.
“This includes the dismissal of one Police Constable, rank reductions for four officers, issuance of warning letters to six personnel, and reprimands for four others.”
Auwal noted that the Complaint Response Unit and the Police Public Relations Department have been instrumental in addressing public complaints regarding officer misconduct.
“During this timeframe, we received 10 complaints, all of which were meticulously investigated. Our efforts culminated in the recovery of N784,000 from the implicated officers, which has been duly returned to the affected victims.”
The Police Commissioner emphasized the force’s unwavering commitment to upholding internal disciplinary procedures, ensuring accountability, and fostering continuous improvement in service delivery.
He stated that the Command is well-prepared for 2025, with strategies in place to protect lives and property, building on the successes of 2024.
He expressed gratitude to the residents of Bauchi State, security agencies, and traditional and religious institutions for their cooperation and support in maintaining a safer state.
“To the personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, Bauchi State Command, I commend your professionalism, dedication, and sacrifices. Your contributions have been pivotal to our successes,” he said.
He commended Governor Bala Mohammed for his support and commitment to enhancing the operational capacity of the Nigeria Police Force in the state.
