The Abia State chapter of the PDP has officially expelled Adolphus Wabara, the embattled Chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees and a former President of the Nigerian Senate, SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS.
The PDP’s State Working Committee held an emergency meeting on Tuesday, following which the party announced Wabara’s expulsion, citing findings from its Disciplinary Committee, with Abia State PDP Chairman Abraham Amah and State Secretary Peter Nwaokonko confirming the decision in a statement.
After conducting a thorough review of the committee’s findings and recommendations regarding Senator Adolphus Wabara’s expulsion, the SWC unanimously endorsed the report’s recommendations, citing Articles 57(3) and 59(1) of the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended) as justification.
“In line with Article 57(3) and 59(1) of the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended), which stipulates that an expelled member cannot exercise any rights or privileges within the party, the Abia State Executive Committee hereby recommends the immediate appointment of an Acting BoT Chairman by the National Working Committee (NWC) and the National Executive Committee (NEC) of our great party,” Amah said.
Adolphus Wabara’s troubles within the party in his state began several weeks ago when the Abia PDP SWC suspended him over alleged anti-party activities. In a swift reaction, the National Working Committee intervened and declared the suspension null and void.
