A video of a pastor and his wife went viral after it was revealed that they had misused over ₦5m in donations meant for their child’s medical treatment, with the couple offering various excuses for their actions.
However, further investigation revealed that the individuals were indeed taken into custody by the police, and the bank statement for the account where the money was deposited was obtained by the authorities.
The bank statement showed that the ₦5m donated by the public was misused, with the father spending the funds on a church sound system, a personal motorbike, a phone for the child, and other items.
When questioned about the misuse of funds, the father responded that he had purchased a speaker for his church and a machine, among other expenditures. His comments in the video sparked widespread shock.
