The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has declared that 110 million Nigerians have so far registered for the National Identification Number (NIN).
This marks a 2.4% increase from the 107.34 million registrations recorded at the end of May.
This was announced by the Director General of the Agency, Abisoye Coker Odusote during the year National Day of Identity that took place in Abuja.
The Theme of the event,”“Digital Public Infrastructure: Enabling Access to Services,” highlighted the importance of digital systems in enhancing public service delivery.
The Director General credited the success to NIMC’s strategic efforts.
The DG stressed that a robust digital public infrastructure (DPI) is crucial for Nigeria’s economic growth and development.
The continued expansion of the NIN registration underscores the government’s commitment to strengthening digital access and improving public services across the country.
