Obasa re-elected as Lagos Speaker after Meranda’s resignation

Mudashiru Obasa, representing Agege Constituency I, has been re-elected as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, following the resignation of Mojisola Meranda.

Meranda came into office seven weeks ago after the lawmakers unanimously impeached Obasa.

Following the nomination of Noheem Adams, a former Majority Leader of the House representing Eti-Osa Constituency 1, Obasa was re-elected. Obasa had dismissed his impeachment as a joke, stating it was not carried out according to due process.
