The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), has declared a total nationwide strike.
The declaration was made on Tuesday, November, 7, 2023 after a successful meeting from both NLC and TUC leaders.
According to the Organised Labour union, the strike will commence on Tuesday, November 14, 2023.
NLC and TUC will be going on strike after the brutalisation of NLC National President, Joe Ajaero, last week in Imo State.
The Organised Labour had earlier accused the former Commissioner of Police in Imo State, Mohammed Barde, of complicity in the recent attack on Ajaero, in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
Recall Labour leaders last Friday gave Federal Government a five-day ultimatum to replace the police commissioner.
The organised labour unions also blamed the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma for the attack on Ajaero.
The governor, however, had since said he had no hand in the attack on the labour leader.
