Ministers, NASS members don’t have access to President Tinubu – Senator Udume alleges

Senator representing Borno North and Senate Chief Whip, Ali Ndume has accused President Bola Tinubu of frustrating Ministers and National Assembly members efforts to see him to discuss crucial issues affecting the poor and the rich Nigerians

The Senate Chief Whip revealed this during an interview with BBC Hausa.

He said the inability of Tinubu’s administration to address the hardship occasioned by the rising cost of living and food scarcity was a cause for concern.

In his words: “The major problem with this government is that its doors are closed, to the extent that even some ministers cannot see the President, not to mention members of the National Assembly, who do not have the opportunity to meet with him and discuss the issues affecting their constituencies.”

Senator Ndume and Senator Sunday Steve Karimi had earlier sponsored a motion to address the food crisis in the country during plenary.

In their remarks, the two distinguished lawmakers noted that the World Food Programme had warned that 82 million Nigerians were likely to face food insecurity in the next five years.
