Senator Dino Melaye, has announced the suspension of his governorship campaign in honour of the late His Royal Majesty, Ado Ibrahim, the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland.
Melaye, is the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State.
This campaign suspension was made know in a press statement released and signed by Dino/Deen Campaign spokesman, Omoyemi Olumudi.
Melaye described the death of the respected monarch as a national loss.
Ohinoyi was a personal loss to me as one who watched over his life and career, melaye said.
In the statement: “He treated me as a son just as his counsel and guidance will remained etched on my memory.
“As a mark of respect and honour to our late father, my campaign council has suspended all activities for the next 48 hours.
“The Ohinoyi will be remembered for his image and achievements which loomed larger than his immediate family, the Okene traditional Council and our dear Kogi State.
“The revered late monarch stood out in business, politics and in Traditional Administration, where he was distinguished in panache, class and finesse,” he added.
Reacting further, he said “the exposure and world outlook reflected in his broad mindedness, cordiality and accommodation of others within and outside his domain. He had the spirit of a quintessential Kogite, detribalised, affable and cosmopolitan.
“Our departed Monarch and father will be sorely missed. May God’s comfort and blessings abide with his family, Kogi State and our nation, Nigeria, he submitted.
