Liberia Presidential Election Run-off Holds November 14

Liberia Elections Commission has scheduled November 14 for presidential election run off in the country, SAVANNAH NEWS REPORTS.

Weah, the incumbent president failed to secure lawful majority votes

The incumbent president took 43.83% of the first roundvote, the commission announced.

Boakai, a former Vice President under Ellen Johnson led a crowded field of challengers with 43.44%.

The two politicians last faced off in the 2017 vote, when Weah ultimately won 60% of the vote in the second round.
