Councilors elected under the All Progressive Congress (APC), in the Ijebu East Local Government Area of Ogun State have suspended Wale Adedayo.
Adedayo was suspended for three months.
According to information made available to the local media in the area, councilors suspended Adebayo following allegations of maladministration and financial mismanagement.
Responding to the development through WhatsApp message to a reporter in the area, Adedayo said “It might be true. Policemen bombarded the office along with thugs this morning,”
The councilors who suspended Adedayo are; Rotimi Williams representing Ajebandele ward 11. Bolutife Osunfisan representing Imushin Ward 2, Abass Sidikat representing Owu ward 5, Fasheyi Adesuji representing Itele Ward 7, Kemi Aliu, , Adeniyi Adenuga representing Imusin Ward, and Biyi Oguntubo representing Imobi ward 9.
The suspended chairman has been directed to appear before council at its next sitting on Thursday, September 14, 2023.
According to them, over I5 allegations were levelled against the suspended chairman in a resolution signed by the seven councilors, including the leader of the house, Fasheyi Adesuji, representing Itele Ward 7.
