Lagos NURTW Chairman Tafa Sego Survives Attempt on His Life

Alhaji Mustapha Adekunle Adio, also known as Tafa Sego, narrowly escaped an assassination attempt on Saturday after six armed men stormed his residence in Surulere, Lagos.

Luckily, he was not at home when the attack occurred.

Sources disclosed that the attackers arrived at his Gbadamosi Close, Surulere residence around 11pm on Saturday night.

Upon arrival, the only person they encountered was the security guard, whom they restrained before thoroughly ransacking the house in search of the union leader. Alhaji Tafa Sego had departed earlier for an event with some associates who had visited him that day.

The neighbourhood was left reeling after the invasion, with residents voicing anxiety and concern over the unprecedented event, and many fearing the attackers may strike again.

Police officers from Area C Command visited the residence to evaluate the situation and record the damages, and they also questioned the security guard, who allegedly provided crucial information to aid the ongoing investigation.

A close associate of Alhaji Tafa Sego has disclosed that the unionist is deeply concerned about being targeted, especially as he implements policies to enhance the welfare of NURTW members, and has pledged to cooperate fully with security agencies to ensure those responsible for the attack are held accountable.
