Labour Party Explains Decision to Zone 2027 Presidential Ticket to South-East

The Labour Party has reiterated its commitment to allocate its 2027 presidential ticket to the South-East, underscoring its support for the region’s political ambitions. This declaration was made by Party Chairman Julius Abure at a rally organized by Labour Party members from the South-East, where he praised the Igbo people’s unity, industriousness, and resilience.

Abure emphasized the need for the South-East to form alliances with other regions and prioritize national unity to boost its presidential bid, while assuring party members of a transparent and credible primary process.

Abure denied speculation of a predetermined candidate, stating the Labour Party’s flag bearer would be selected through a democratic process by its members, and expressed confidence in the party’s prospects in the upcoming Abuja Area Council election, predicting a strong competition with other political opponents.
