The Kwara State Police Command has paraded a 36-year-old medical doctor, Abass Adeyemi, who is accused of killing four people in the state, according to Commissioner of Police CP Paul Odama.
The CP stated that one of the victims, Olanipekun Ifeoluwa, who was reported missing at F Division, was allegedly the same young lady killed and dumped in the bush at Alapa in Asa local government area by the suspect, and that investigation revealed the suspect was last seen with the deceased Ifeoluwa.
According to him, the circumstances surrounding Ifeoluwa’s disappearance at Tanke and her subsequent discovery dead at Alapa raised suspicions that the suspect had knowledge about the missing woman.
“While the command was searching for the doctor, news filtered in that the Police Command in Edo had arrested Dr Abbas Adeyemi in connection with another case of killing.
“The command in an effort to get to the root of the serial murder case in Kwara state succeeded in getting him released from Edo to the kwara state command to help in the investigation.
“Adeyemi confessed to have killed Ifeoluwa on June 24, 2022 by hitting her with an object on the head and dumped the body at a bush in Alapa.
“He also confessed to have earlier sedated and causing the kidnap and killing of one Abubakar Malam Abubakar and killing of one Nafisat Halidu, a casual worker at General Hospital both in Kaiama.
According to the Commissioner, the suspect claimed to have hidden her body in a trash can, filled it with cement, and stored it in a locked store at the General Hospital Kaiama, keeping the key with him.
“He also confessed to the killing of one unknown lady buried inside the same general hospital store.
“Both bodies were exhumed, recovered and deposited at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital,” the CP said.
The police boss revealed that Adeyemi confessed to being lured into organ harvesting by an unidentified syndicate.
A discreet investigation is ongoing to uncover other killings committed by the suspect and his syndicate. Exhibits recovered from Adeyemi include a Toyota Camry, handbags, phones, a female wig, and other items. The CP stated that Adeyemi will soon be charged to court.
