Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, a prominent businessman and philanthropist from Kano, has died at the age of 94, his death was confirmed by his Principal Private Secretary, Mustapha Abdullahi Junaid on Saturday morning.
With a heavy heart, Junaid announced the passing of his beloved father, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, saying ‘May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus and forgive his shortcomings.’
Alhaji Aminu Dantata is the founder of Express Petroleum & Gas Company Ltd and played a key role in the establishment of Jaiz Bank, Nigeria’s first non-interest (Islamic) bank.
He is an uncle to Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote.
