JUST IN: Ondo Deputy Speaker, Majority leader step down

Abayomi Akinruntan, deputy Speaker of the Ondo state House of Assembly, representing Ilaje constituency 1, has stepped down, SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS.

Today, at a plenary session presided over by Speaker Rt Hon Olamide Oladiji, the House Majority Leader, Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, representing Owo constituency 1, stepped down and was replaced by Hon. Olatunji Oshati from Ose constituency.

Akinruntan, from the same local government area as Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, resigned citing political power sharing in the state.

Akinruntan has been succeeded by Hon. Ololade Gbegudu, who also represents the Okitipupa constituency 11.
