Ibadanland mourns the loss of its traditional ruler, Olubadan Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, who passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025, just two days after celebrating his 90th birthday.
Oba Olakulehin, who ascended to the throne on July 12, 2024, had a one-year reign as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, following the death of his predecessor, Oba (Dr.) Moshood Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, who passed away on March 14, 2024, at the age of 81.
Oba Olakulehin, born on July 5, 1935, was enthroned by Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, after progressing through the ranks of the Ibadan traditional hierarchy from the Balogun line of succession.
