JUST IN: DSS raids Lagos state house of Assembly, seals offices of Speaker and deputy

Armed security personnel from the Department of State Security and Nigeria Police stormed the Lagos State House of Assembly premises in the early hours of Monday, sealing off the offices of the Speaker, Mojisola Meranda, her deputy, and the clerk of the house, with security personnel taking over the premises and frisking passersby by 10 am, SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS.

Meranda arrived with her convoy around 11:15 am.

Recall that Mudashiru Obasa, the embattled former Speaker of the House, has taken the state lawmakers to court over his removal as Speaker of the Assembly.

Obasa has reportedly filed a motion at the Ikeja Division of the State High Court, seeking an expedited hearing of his case.
