Bill Gates, Co-Chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, is set to visit Nigeria this week for meetings with President Bola Tinubu and other top government officials to discuss ways to fortify the country’s primary healthcare system, SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS.
Bill Gates is scheduled to participate in the Goalkeepers Nigeria event, which highlights Africa’s advancements and potential in innovation, particularly in the fields of health and technology, and will also collaborate with scientists and partners to develop artificial intelligence strategies and expand health solutions across Africa.
The visit follows Bill Gates’ major announcement in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he pledged $200 billion over 20 years through the Gates Foundation to support global health and development, especially in Africa.
On Monday, Gates addressed African leaders at the African Union headquarters, urging them to speed up innovation and partnerships in order to meet sustainable development goals.
