JAF Congratulates Gov Aiyedatiwa On Appeal Court Victory

Canadian-based investigative journalist Olujimi Adekanle, also known as JAF and publisher of SavannahNewnow, congratulates Ondo State Governor Aiyedatiwa and Deputy Governor Adelami on their Court of Appeal victory.

The Appeal Court, sitting in Akure, on Thursday affirmed the election of Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress(APC) as the governor of Ondo State.

Olugbenga Edema had requested that the court direct INEC to retract the nomination and publication of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the APC and his deputy as the party’s candidates.

He urged the court to interpret how Section 15 of the Third Schedule to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) applies to the APC candidate’s nomination.

Justice Toyin Bolaji Adegoke ruled that the omission of the NNPP’s name as one of the plaintiffs made the suit ineffective and dismissed it.

In a statement, Adekanle offer his warmest congratulations to His Excellency Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, Governor of Ondo State, and his Deputy, Dr. Olayide Adelami, on their well-deserved victory at the Court of Appeal.

Adekanle expressed delight at the verdict in the statement and called on Edema to work with Aiyedatiwa to deliver democratic dividends to the people.

“This verdict marks the end of the legal challenges surrounding the election, and it’s expected to bring closure to the people of Ondo State.

“I appeal to my friend Olugbenga Edema to put the interest of the state above personal ambition and join hands with the governor to move the state forward”, the statement reads.

Adekanle encourage all stakeholders to embrace this opportunity for unity and development.
