Ondo State House of Assembly has approached the Appeal Court to appeal the ruling of the Federal High Court in Abuja which restrained the House of Assembly from impeaching the Deputy Governor.
Recalled Savannah News reports a Federal High Court judgment restraining the Ondo State House of Assembly from impeaching the Deputy Governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, over alleged gross misconduct.
In the judgment, FHC also restrained Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu from nominating a new deputy governor and forwarded the same to the lawmakers for approval pending the hearing and determination of the substantive matter.
The court held that after listening to Adewusi, he was of the view that the interest of justice would be met by granting the application.
Ondo State House of Assembly had earlier petitioned the National Judicial Council over the Federal High Court judgement restraining them from performing its functions.
