Ikale West LCDA: Jimoh Ibrahim Redeems N10m Pledge For Construction Of Secretariat Building

Dr. Jimoh Ibrahim on Sunday redeemed his pledge of supporting Ikale West LCDA with the sum of N10 million for the completion of the Secretariat building.

Ibrahim is the current Senator Representing the good people of Ondo South at the Red Chamber.

Recall the government of Ondo State had earlier proposed the creation of 33 new Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state, and transmitted the bill for the creation of the LCDAs to the State Assembly for ratification, after which it was subjected to a public hearing and committed to the committee of the whole.

Ibrahim on August 4, 2023 pledged N10million to the people of Ilutitun for the take-off of the newly created Ikale West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in the state.

Redeeming the pledge, Ibrahim visited HRM Oba Isaac Idepefo, the Majuwa of Moribodo Kingdom in Ilutitun, in his palace to personally present the bank draft.

Dr. Ibrahim explained that the creation of the LCDA would impact the lives of the people through provision of social amenities that would invariably enhance their means of livelihood.

In his words: “It is necessary we ensure the completion of our Ikale West Local Council Development Area’ Secretariat building so that the officials can hit the ground running when they are appointed. That’s why I’m donating this N10 million.

“Kabiyesi, it is important that we should provide all necessary logistics that would enhance the performance of the LCDA officials when they assume office and the secretariat is what is going to accommodate them.

“The quality of job done by the contractors would be of international standard because the occupants are going to serve our people.”

Stressing further, the distinguished Senator sought the assistance of Oba Idepefo on how to end the longtime unwholesome rivalry between Igbotako and Ilutitun.

He called for unity and cooperation between the two kingdoms for the develooment of the people and the communities, noting that unwholesome rivalry serves as a cog in the wheel of development.

“Kabiyesi, I want you to use your office as the traditional ruler of Ilutitun kingdom to resolve the longtime unnecessary rivalry between Igbotako and Ilutitun.

“I am sure you know Kabiyesi that this rivalry of superiority has not added any value to both communities.

“We all know that unhealthy rivalry is a cog in the wheel of development, so I want you to work with your friend in Igbotako to bring this to an end soonest.

“Ikale West LCDA cannot take the risk of being the last in terms of socio-economic development among its peers when they start off.

“It is through the concerted efforts of both Ilutitun and Igbotako that our LCDA would develop at envious pace for the betterment of the citizens and the communities.”

Responding, Oba Idepefo appreciated the distinguished senator for his concern for the people of Ondo South Senatorial District.

He applauded Senator Ibrahim for the wonderful job he has done and still doing within the short period he arrived at the Red Chamber.

Oba Idepefo described the senator as a philanthropist par excellence as he donates to ensure his people live a comfortable life.
