The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has commenced an investigation into alleged violations of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000, involving the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS.
In a letter dated July 6, 2026, and addressed to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NAN, the anti-corruption agency directed the organization to release relevant documents and designate a competent officer to appear before its investigators at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja on Friday, July 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
According to the letter, the request is made pursuant to Section 38 of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000, to facilitate the ongoing investigation.
The ICPC specifically requested all documents relating to NAN’s recruitment and regularization exercises between 2024 and 2026, including advertisements, recruitment criteria, lists of shortlisted and successful candidates, as well as minutes of committee meetings connected to the exercise.
The Commission also demanded the personnel file of Ogunola Folashade Adunni, alongside any other information that may assist investigators in the course of the probe.
The letter, signed by the Director of Operations on behalf of the ICPC Chairman, concluded by requesting the agency’s full cooperation as investigations continue.
The ICPC has yet to publicly disclose the specific allegations prompting the investigation, while the News Agency of Nigeria has not issued an official response to the Commission’s request.
