I Was Offered N5bn Bribe for Impeachment Plot Against Fubara – Chief of Staff Ehie

Edison Ehie, Chief of Staff to Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, claims he was offered a N5 billion bribe to facilitate the governor’s impeachment, SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS.

Ehie disclosed on Channels Television’s ‘Sunday Politics’ that he possesses concrete evidence of the offer, which he has stored on his mobile phone, and as a precautionary measure, he has printed and distributed copies of the evidence to protect himself from potential attacks.

“I can also open my phone to show you. In the beginning of October 2023, they approached me with a bribe of N5 billion. It is here in my phone,” Ehie stated.

“It was for impeachment. It’s here. I have it, and I have printed it and distributed it, in case, in their evil imagination, they decide to attack me. I already have a son and a brother,” he added.

Ehie revealed that an alleged bribe attempt occurred while he served as Majority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

The political crisis in Rivers State, which led to a state of emergency being declared on March 18, is rooted in the ongoing power struggle between FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
