Lagos State Government shuts down Cubana Chief Priest’s Lekki restaurant, Donald’s Fast Food, due to allegations of improper waste disposal.
Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, announced the clos¹ure in a statement on his official X page, citing reports of unauthorized dumping of refuse by individuals linked to the establishment.
“In the early hours of Sunday, May 18, 2025, the Chairman of the Lekki Estate Residents Association (LERA) alerted us to an incident involving the illegal dumping of waste along Durosimi-Etti Street in Lekki Phase 1,” Wahab wrote.
A white Ford van with Abuja registration number GWA 136E was caught dumping refuse indiscriminately, and upon investigation, it was traced back to Donald’s Fast Food, a nightlife hotspot on Road 14.
Two suspects were apprehended and detained at the LERA Secretariat, and they allegedly attempted to bribe the security team with ₦100,000, which was rejected.
This incident is the latest in a series of clashes between Cubana Chief Priest’s business and Lagos authorities, following the previous sealing of Donald’s Fast Food in September 2024 for environmental infractions, including noise pollution.
