The Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, has relieved Gilda Amata of her appointment.
Gilda is a Senior Special Assistant to Governor Akeredolu on domestic affairs.
She was sacked because of her close relationship with the Acting Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Gilda was believed to be the one releasing all information on Akeredolu’s health to the Acting Governor’s camp.
A Statement by an insider stated that “the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu SAN who has just successfully gone through a bone marrow transplant is recovering gradually as he needs more time to be on his feet which necessitates him writing the state assembly for extension of his sick leave to enable him recuperate well before coming back to his duty post, he has directed that Mrs Gilda Amata who hails from Imo state with the First Lady ceases to function forthwith, as his Senior Special Assistant on Domestic affair to the Governor.
Savannah News, reports that Gilda had been at loggerheads with the Akeredolu’s family for some time before the governor finally approved termination of her appointment at this critical time of his life.
Gilda is one of the powerful aide to the governor before she was sent to the Golgotha, as she was in charge of Mr Governor’s daily routine starting from his breakfast to other domestic activities and this has attracted the high and mighty in Ondo state politics that has tasted from her ‘Domestic’ menu.
Her account with several millions of naira has been frozen and her police escorts and official vehicles retrieved from her.
