The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has expressed the party’s willingness to welcome Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the former Kano State governor and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) leader, if he decides to join the ruling party.
Ganduje made the statement on Tuesday while addressing journalists after receiving the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Alhaji Yusuf Ata, emphasizing that the APC is a “big family” capable of accommodating all who are willing to contribute to national development, regardless of past political differences.
Ganduje said:” the APC is deepening and widening democracy in the country.
”Kwankwaso is a fish out of water, trying to find its way back into the waters.
“We cannot say we can’t accommodate him, because a friend in need is a friend indeed.
“We can still involve him if he’s interested in joining us, so he doesn’t feel completely left out.
“When you see your son running for shelter and you’re in a position to provide it as his big brother in a large household, isn’t it morally right to take him in?
“So, we cannot say we cannot accommodate him,” Ganduje stressed.
Ata, the former Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, paid a visit to Ganduje to express his respect, gratitude, and support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration efforts in Kano State.
“We are strongly behind Tinubu and we are working round the clock to ensure we deliver Kano State in 2027,” he said.
Ata stated that the era of the Kwankwasiyya red cap was gradually becoming a relic of the past in the state, as he spoke about the ‘Kwankwasiyya movement’.
”Personally, I don’t want the former governor of Kano state to join the APC, but I have no choice if the national chairman decides to bring him on board,” Ata said.
