Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, also known as Kwam 1, has apologized for an incident that occurred at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
Kwam 1 expressed regret over the situation in a statement, but denied allegations that his flask contained alcohol, claiming it was only water.
“The incident involving me and ValueJet Airline at the airport was unfortunate,” he said. “I suffer from chronic dehydration, and on medical advice, I always carry water with me to stay hydrated.”
Kwam 1 stated that his flask was empty during the two security checks, and was only filled with water at the airport lounge before proceeding to the tarmac, suggesting that CCTV footage could confirm this.
He also noted that he had not yet boarded the plane when the incident occurred.
While apologizing for any concern caused, Kwam 1 stressed that he had no intention of violating aviation protocols or causing disruption.
He reaffirmed his patriotism and commitment to promoting Nigerian culture globally, stating that he would never take actions that could harm his reputation or that of Nigeria.
Kwam 1 offered his sincerest apologies to several entities, including the Presidency, Ministry of Aviation, FAAN, NCAA, ValueJet, and Nigerians at home and abroad who had expressed concern.
