Ex-FC Porto Captain Jorge Costa Dies at 53

Former FC Porto captain Jorge Costa has died at 53 after suffering a cardiac arrest at the club’s training ground, according to BBC Sport.

Costa led Porto to UEFA Champions League victory under José Mourinho in 2004. He made 50 appearances for Portugal and played briefly in the English Premier League with Charlton Athletic in the 2001/2002 season, before retiring from professional football in 2006.

The football community is mourning his loss, just weeks after Portuguese player Diogo Jota died in a car crash in Spain.
