The Federal High Court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State, has nullified the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention held on November 15, 2025.
In a judgment delivered on Monday, the court declared the convention invalid, ruling that it was not conducted in accordance with the party’s constitution and established guidelines.
The court consequently barred Alhaji Turaki and other individuals emerging from the disputed convention from parading themselves as national officers of the PDP or performing any functions in that capacity.
Furthermore, the court affirmed that the Caretaker Committee led by Abdulrahman, alongside Senator Samuel Anyanwu, remains the only legally recognised National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP pending the conduct of a valid and properly constituted National Convention.
The ruling is expected to have significant implications for the party’s leadership structure and internal politics, as it effectively resets the PDP’s national leadership arrangements until a fresh convention is held in line with due process.
