The new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has pledged to transform the ruling party into a source of joy and national pride.
Yilwatda also said his leadership will attract more Governors, Senators and other opposition leaders into the ruling party, adding that “the 2027 election is a done deal for APC. ”
Speaking after resuming at the APC national secretariat following his election at the NEC meeting held at the Presidential Villa, the former minister described the National Working Committee as a mechanic and the party as a vehicle in need of repair.
The 7th national chairman has taken over from Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the former governor of Kano state, who stepped down due to health reasons.
According to him, as mechanics of the party, which is the vehicle, the National Working Committee and others will fix it, drive it, and work together to reach their desired destination.
“Its our collective effort and I’m sure by the time we put our hands on the deck collectively, this party will be great, this party will be the joy and the pride and the bright of the entire nation and that’s what I look forward to this party becoming under our collective leadership.”
While appreciating Nigerians for supporting the APC, Yilwatda said the 2027 election is a done deal for the ruling party.
“I appreciate Nigerians supporting APC, standing by APC, our doors are open to welcome new members. Our doors are open, we look forward to having more governors, more senators, more National Assembly members, more local government chairmen and more members into our party.
“We will expand beyond bounds. I’m sure by God’s grace, I’m sure the 2027 is a done deal for APC.”
