President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has unveiled a major cabinet reshuffle during an ongoing Federal Executive Council meeting, which includes the dissolution of the Ministry of Niger Delta and the Ministry of Sports Development, paving the way for new administrative frameworks.
A new Ministry of Regional Development has been created to oversee all regional development commissions, including the Niger Delta Development Commission, North West Development Commission, South West Development Commission, and North East Development Commission, aiming to centralize administration and boost regional growth initiatives.
