Breaking: Nigeria is not “mature” for state police – IGP

The Inspector General of police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has made it known that Nigeria as a country is not matured for the creation of state Police.

He made this known while speaking at a national forum on state police on Monday in Abuja.

The police boss discouraged the creation of state police.

Ben Okolo, an assistant inspector-general of police, who represented the IGP said Nigeria is not ready for the establishment of state police.

“It is the submission of the leadership of the Nigeria police force that Nigeria is yet to mature and ready for the establishment of state-controlled police,” he said.
