Justice Maryann of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory has rejected the bail application of former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, due to procedural irregularities, SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS.
The judge found that the application was filed prematurely, before Bello’s arrest and arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
According to the ruling, a bail application cannot be considered valid if filed before the applicant is taken into custody.
Bello, who faces charges brought by the EFCC, remains in custody pending further legal actions.
